Collateral Damage: During an overnight raid of the Occupy Wall Street encampment at Zuccotti Park, police threw 5,000+ books from the OWS Library in the trash. (via boingboing, Buzzfeed).
Update: The NYPD apparently did not destroy at least some of the books. As per a tweet from the Mayor’s Office, the books are safely residing at the 57th Street Sanitation Garage. Phew.
