From a Wall Street Journal’s profile of Wendi Deng Murdoch in 2000. Deng came to the U.S. via a student visa, sponsored by Jake and Joyce Cherry. The couple later divorced over Joyce’s suspicions of her husband and Deng’s relationship. That relationship, obviously, didn’t last either.

UPDATE: So Wendi just slapped away her husband’s attacker? Too crazy.
