Ginger Lee is one of the more common names on the [porn] circuit. Variations abound: there’s Ginger Lea, Ginger Lee Grace, Ginger Li, Ginger Lixxx, and of course, Ginger Lynn, the now-48-year-old blond vixen who took the ‘80s porn world by storm and later appeared in American Pie Presents Band Camp.

shortformblog:

Howard Stern has apparently taken over this press conference.

That was sad. As Eric Alterman writes, “this cable-induced panic was the wrong weathervane by which to gauge the political situation on its merits.”

You can tell that the Weiner news cycle has come full circle when our two lead Weinergate pieces today (and another over the weekend) read sympathetic to the disgraced congressman. Peter Beinart writes:

We live in a kick-them-while-they’re-down culture. We love to see the powerful humiliated because it proves that they were no better than us to begin with. Yet we simultaneously imagine that because they’re powerful and famous, they don’t need the empathy that we’d desire were we in their stead. Instead of being moved by their suffering, we revel in it.

And Howard Kurtz writes:

Once the mighty media machine clanks into action, it chews up human beings without a trace of remorse. Family members are collateral damage. Moral misdemeanors become felonies and felonies become capital crimes, with the perpetrators vilified in the public square.

Anthony Weiner’s former girlfriend, Kirsten Powers—a political analyst on Fox News and a writer for the New York Post—defended him on TV to millions of people after he insisted to her that he didn’t send lewd photos on Twitter. Now, she’s calling for his resignation.
In short, he was a friend who I cared for very much, even if I thought he had issues with which he needed to deal.  It was because of this friendship that I believed him when he told me last week that he had done nothing wrong.  In an email to me he wrote:  “Why not to call the cops: Personal account, no federal case, we don’t know yet what they got, I didn’t send it, statements on sat, sun, monday, the girl said she doesn’t know me, I don’t know her. The people I follow are all people who ask.  We’ve hired a law firm but not to protect me, to put together the team to figure out how we prevent and maybe civil or criminal next steps. We don’t know where this photo came from.  We have theories. Until we know for sure we open up legal hornets nest if we say.”
He knew I was going on the show Hannity where I would use this false information to defend him in front of millions of people.  I did, and I regret it.

He was not sending photos to women to allow for what pleases women, which is a nice kind of cuddle or sweet nothings about how beautiful you are—which is what it takes in that department.

On the surface, Weiner and Abedin would seem like an odd match. She is a practicing Muslim and he is Jewish. He actively courts the media—while she has been a reluctant media star. The congressman was known to have had a pretty active bachelorhood, but he courted Abedin tenaciously despite her early ambivalence toward him. There was never a shortage of powerful men drooling over her, and she was considered quite the catch when Weiner started pursuing her a few years ago.

Read Lois Romano, on Huma Abedin.

He who warned, uh, the Internet that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our cock shots, uh, by flashing those balls, and um, makin’ sure as he’s riding his lie through town to send those pec shots and balls that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be dicked, via email.
