Six Words That Mean Something VERY Different to Porn Stars

dailybeastwest:

When you say ‘ATM’ to a porn star, she doesn’t think of a cash dispenser. Aurora Snow explains the industry’s down-low lingo. And what’s this about piña colada mix?

Next time you stop by the set of a porno film, you might be pleasantly surprised to hear that we’re discussing very innocent things—girls, baked goods, maybe something about an ATM.

But like every other industry, porn has its own secret lingo, and we’ve been known to put a filthy spin on some very normal words. Back in the day, lay people weren’t in the loop, but lately they’ve been catching on. (I don’t mean actors who lay people, I mean civilians.) Still, some of the definitions below may still surprise you, or maybe gross you out.

Warning: not for the faint of heart.

A taboo remains, Aurora Snow writes:

When I first got into the adult-film business about 12 years ago, one of the most confusing things my agent asked was whether I “did interracial.” I was completely baffled. So the old man clarified: “Do you do black guys?” I was shocked at what seemed a racist question. As I sat on his dusty couch in a small, smoke-filled office, it suddenly felt like I was in another era: the black-and-white one.

go watch her porn where she gets gagged, slapped, spit on, thrown around by five dudes. She ditched self-respect for money. Not a good role model.

Nothing against being open about sex, or sexuality in general, but the point of moral strictures like the ones we see in most major religions, aren’t, at the bottom of things, about repressing sexual desires, but about controlling them. Letting our carnal, primal selves run free is dangerous, it’s giving ourselves over to base pleasures which is will-negating, finding pleasure in the carnal instead of finding pleasure in the heightened (intelligence).

Go read Nietzsche for crissakes! The Birth of Tragedy, where the cult of Dionysus represents our carnal, base, animalistic selves, is detailed as being ‘will-negating’, and the antithesis of civilization.

Go cheer for her sexual openness, but as other people have here noted, this is a symptom of a decaying society that has abandoned its values.

And that is dangerous.

Our writer Marlow Stern interviewed former porn star-turned-actress Sasha Grey and the comments are now playing host to a debate about Grey and porn between our readers and Stern. Come weigh in.

It opened so many doors for the adult industry, women and sexuality in general. Up until that point I bet some men didn’t even know that women had a clitoris. This began wanting to please your partner and took the shame out of being aroused or wanting to have an orgasm. I think the movie did great things.

The owner of Anabolic had paid a pretty penny for this location. There was a guy who we met there that let everyone one in, and he was probably the same person who locked up for us afterwards. I’ll never forget the sense of awe from being in such a famous locker room for an XXX production. It was the most memorable place I have ever been for an adult film.

And that was the consensus among us all: “Wow. This is damn cool! We’re shooting porn at USC.”

That time porn star Aurora Snow was a cheer-leading extra in a porno filmed in L.A. Coliseum and wrote an article for us about it

newsweek:

A pornographer (who’s made such hit films, as, say, Hollywood Scat Amateurs #10) is battling obscenity charges in court by saying he’s an artist. The question, then: is porn art? Let’s put ourselves in the jury members’ shoes…

It’s 8 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles, and the 16 people in the jury box at the Edward R. Roybal federal courthouse are watching a film of two women smearing themselves with feces. At least some of them are watching, anyway. One woman is focused intently on wrapping and unwrapping a tendril of hair around her finger. Another, a 40-something woman with a Carol Brady flip, stares poker-faced at the screen. Most of the men just look away.

Across the room, Ira Isaacs, the 61-year-old producer of the film, which is titled Hollywood Scat Amateurs #10, bobs his head along with the music in the opening credits.

In the video, Isaacs speaks to the women from off-camera. “Not so bad after a while, is it?” he says as he hands one a dark spoonful. The women giggle like kids playing with finger paint—as though they can’t quite believe someone, somewhere is getting off on this.

But despite the laughter, the women can’t stifle a gag here and there. One balks at the spoon and shakes her head. That’s more reaction than the jury, now in its second day of screening films, is able to muster. As she ultimately takes the spoon and puts it in her mouth, no one in the jury box bats an eye.

Our eyes are nervously twitching after this one…

Am I fit to be around school children? I have no criminal record, am currently enrolled in college, and I take care of my quadriplegic brother and three school-age nephews… I wake up with my nephews when they have nightmares, stay up all night when they have a flu, wake up to see them off to school, and help them with homework in the evenings.

Ginger Lee is one of the more common names on the [porn] circuit. Variations abound: there’s Ginger Lea, Ginger Lee Grace, Ginger Li, Ginger Lixxx, and of course, Ginger Lynn, the now-48-year-old blond vixen who took the ‘80s porn world by storm and later appeared in American Pie Presents Band Camp.

And now we can add porn to the list of Osama’s favorite things. Porn and thumb drives.
