DAILY BEAST TUMBLRS

We’ve had these problems ever since the Emancipation Proclamation. Once the whites leave town, all you’ve got is overwhelming lawlessness.

This is hardly the first time Rush Limbaugh’s said something offensive.

The above comment was in reference to Hurricane Katrina and the botched post-storm clean-up. Limbaugh declared, “It’s not George Bush’s fault!” While Bush admitted his administration’s inability to deal with the chaos, Limbaugh blamed it on black people who “wanted to rape and loot!”

FLOWCHART: Do you ever have sex for, like, non-procreative reasons? Do you use birth control? Are you female? You might be a slut.

Full chart here

BTW, the total number of advertisers who have pulled their ads from Limbaugh’s show is up to 26, according to Think Progress.

I descended to their level when I used those two words to describe Sandra Fluke, I descended to their level and I feel very badly about that.

Rush Limbaugh, blaming liberals for why he called Sandra Fluke a “slut” (via theatlantic)

Starting to think “apology” doesn’t mean what Rush Limbaugh thinks it means.

Sandra Fluke Opening Statement (C-SPAN) (by CSPAN)

TW:  Video discusses rape victim; comments on video link very derogatory

What makes me sick about the comments on the video and the comments Rush Limbaugh made about Ms. Fluke is that this video (her statement) never once discusses recreational sex.  It talks about the medical need for birth control.

I still think women should have affordable access to bc regardless, but this issue hits home for me because I have PCOS like Sandra’s friend.   Before my prescription deductible is met, I pay about $95 a month (28 days) for birth control.  If I did not have health insurance that did not cover birth control, it would be difficult for me to make it work while also paying for other medications.  I’m so disappointed by the way people have chosen to react to her testimony and personal attacks that have been made against her by public figures.
