Since 1976, no serious contender, Democrat or Republican, has watched his favorable ratings fall as low as Romney’s have in recent months. Or watched his unfavorable ratings climb as high. Or watched his overall numbers stay underwater—that is, more unfavorable than favorable—for so long.

At this rate, Romney is shaping up to be the most unpopular presidential nominee on record.

Obama ‘Too Liberal’

According to a new Gallup poll, [Obama] almost perfectly splits participants down the middle, with 51 percent saying his political views are “too liberal.”

Also, 89 percent of Republicans surveyed said Obama was too liberal. Despite all this, 47% of people agreed with Obama’s views. Read more.

Weinergate: Fugheddaboutit

We hit the streets yesterday and polled New Yorkers about whether they would still vote for Anthony Weiner after the congressman’s now infamous gray-boxers shot. Guess what? Most New Yorkers don’t really care (sigh).

Overall, the numbers present a picture of a city that may be rolling its eyes at Weiner, but won’t decide what lever to pull based on whether they’ve seen his lever: two-thirds said the incident wouldn’t factor into a decision on whether to vote for him for mayor. What’s more, respondents seem to be buying Weiner’s line that he didn’t send out the photo.
